SURPRISE!!!

Happy birthday, Mr. Christmas!!!!  

Today, he is 40!!!!!

On Friday, I threw him a surprise party.  Heehee.  He had no clue what was happening.

We started the evening at Union Station...

I wanted to take him to the model train museum in the basement, but it was closed because they found asbestos in the room.

So, we hung out in the depot for a while.

We still enjoyed ourselves.  Union Station is such a beautiful building - inside and outside.

After that, we headed to Patsy's Italian Restaurant where all of our friends were eagerly awaiting the guest of honor...

I had to get him a Rainbow Barbie Princess cake.

There were gag gifts a plenty...

The food was yummy!  The drinks were flowin'!  We had a blast!

It was a fantastic party.

I probably don't have to tell you that Scott THOROUGHLY enjoyed himself...

It's been a birthday celebration, all weekend long.  

Yesterday, we went to "Drag Queen" brunch at the XBar on Colfax...

No - those aren't drag queens.  Heehee...

Say "hello" to "Elvis" and "Tess"...

Today...

...it's naptime.  Then, dinner with the family.

Ssssh! It's a surprise!  I have a big weekend planned for Scott. 

His birthday is on Sunday!

Stuck on you...

Today was my first day back in the studio for quite a while.  It was nice to clean up a bit, and put out some of the new goodies I received for Christmas...

...like the beautiful vintage vase I received from my love (pictured above.)

A new year means a new plate for my glue gun.  My sweet friend, Jenna (aka Slug) decided I needed a new one for Christmas because my old one was COATED in glue.

Today, I had a small photo session to make a new banner for the bliggety blog.

  I thought it might be a good time to bring out the ballerinas!

They had a great time playing and dancing in the snow!

Needless to say, I didn't have a totally PRODUCTIVE day.

But I had a CREATIVE day, and that is worth just as much.

Inspiration for tomorrow...

I'm heading back to the studio tomorrow.  

I have been taking a much needed break from F and S.

Sometimes, when I get out of my rhythm, it takes me a while to get it back.  Does that ever happen to you?  That being said, I thought I would look for a little inspiration to get me back into the swing of things.  

Here's what I found...

What's in store?

There are lots of New Year's resolutions in the air.

I prefer not to make resolutions.  I prefer to call them "hopes."

I like to make goals, and set out to acheive them. 

Here are some of my hopes for 2011...

1. Focus on my monkeys - their education and happiness

2. Schedule my time (this can be soooooooo challenging.)

3. Rejuvenate my Etsy shop and knock your socks off with my new spring designs.

4. Spruce up this bliggety-blog - this means I have to become more tech-savvy.

5. Make more time for exercising and relaxing.

6.  Read more!  Read more!  Read more!

7. Redesign my studio - soooooo excited about this one.

8. Find a way to give back, and teach my monkeys to do the same.

9. Expand Fern and Sprout - not sure how, but I am ready.

10. Take a vacation with my love, my friends, and my kids, (maybe not all at the same time.)

11. Find a new place to live.

12. Learn to crochet.

There you have it.

If I don't live up to some of these hopes, 

I won't be too hard on myself.   

However, I fully intend to get it together, and ROCK THAT LIST!

  This blog, and all of you will hold me accountable...right?

Let's do this.

Today, I put Christmas away.  

I was sad to see it go, but very happy to have our living space back to normal.

For New Year's Eve, we spent a nice, quiet evening with our friends.

Yummy food, close friends, and lots o' laughs.

What a way to ring in 2011!

I am excited and hopeful about what's to come in this next year.

My only resolution is to keep moving.  I am going to grab onto the future and hold on for the ride.
