Snowed in...

In the midst of my cabin fever, I came up with a little easy project. I've been seeing lots of vintage enamal pins in the world of blogs. I have a small collection of them, mostly given to me by my Grandmother, a long time ago. They've been sitting in my drawer, but they are too beautiful for that. So I decided to pin them all to the pillow - which I also received from my Grandmother, on my fancy couch.

I think it looks pretty cute...
...and now I can look at them every day and think of her...

...not to mention it will give my fancy couch a POP of color! Loooove that.

Check this out...

When I say "snowed in" I mean SNOWED IN!! I must admit, this picture is for dramatic effect. This is the snow on top of cars behind my house - but it looks like big snowdrifts, doesn't it? We have about two feet out there. It's beautiful but I am ready to get out of the house. The monkeys are, too.

I'm taking my mom to see "This Is It" for her birthday, tomorrow night. I can't wait. I still miss Michael. :(

Stay warm, people!!!

enough of the white fluffy stuff

Our first snowfall usually happens ON or AFTER Halloween. Today, we are getting dumped on and it's not supposed to stop until tomorrow night. I do find the snow very beautiful. However, being the "Type A" person I am...I am ready for this snowstorm to end so I may go about my business.

Sorry for complaining. Have a delightful evening.

Here's a long one for ya...

Ah...and so the weekend is over...thank goodness. It's been soooooooo busy. Not as busy as my work-week...but busy.
There's so much to include in this post - it is going to be LONG. Brace yourselves.

First of all, I'd like to introduce you to "GEORGETTE"...

...my new antique dress form that I acquired last weekend when I discovered my new favorite shop in old town Littleton - The Pink Attic Cat.
It is the most unique, well merchandised, affordably priced antique shop in Littleton (or Denver for that matter.) Not to mention, I immediately bonded with the owner - Amy. She is PRECIOUS!! As we discovered, our paths have crossed many times. We both grew up in Littleton, went to neighboring highschools, knew the same people...etc. I bought my first vintage Christmas village and my FAVORITE vintage hat from her about six years ago. We were meant to be friends!! So SERENDIPIDOUS!!!! Here are some snapshots of the sweet litte treasures to be found in her shop...

On a different note, as I said before, I have been so busy my head is spinning. THIS IS A GOOD THING!!! I have a ton of local business and will be selling my designs at three upcoming shows...which means I've been spending LOTS of time at my studio! Ah...I LOVE MY STUDIO!!! It feels like my home away from home. This week I found the perfect piece to fit into my studio - a large vintage chair (for me to sit and relax when I need a break from the work.)

It's comfy, cozy, and it's in GREAT SHAPE!! I know my studio will be an everlasting work in progress, but I feel like it's finally coming together. Here's some shots of what it looks like right now.

Although I was working like crazy this week, I did make some time for a little project...

These are some vintage cards I got at the Pink Attic Cat.

How cute is that? This litte banner will adorn my booth at the upcoming shows I will be doing.

I also took a little time, this week, for some much needed photography. I was "jonezing" for a day with the camera, so I just took an hour or so, and drove to a few places where I could get some good shots. I put together a "mosaic" on BigHugeLabs of some of my favorite fall snapshots.

After a few much needed, yet brief moments with my camera...it was back to work on a necklace order for Decade.

Speaking of "home away from home"...that is also Decade for me. I have been with Decade, on and off, for almost thirteen years. Being a part of this store has changed my life. In fact, I would not be doing what I am doing - SUCCESSFULLY - without my experience at Decade. Kris - the owner and my friend - has helped me in more ways than I can ever describe. And each coworker has touched my life in a significant way. I have made lifelong friends from Decade. The customers, the other people from the neighborhood, the changes I have seen on Broadway over the years have all shaped my life. I don't know where I would be without Decade. I feel truly blessed to be a part of such a special place and I feel honored that they are carrying my designs.

Kris, Darci, and Jill...

Stella, the store cat (has been there for 12 years.)

Fern and Sprout Shoeclips featured at Decade...

Here is another store carrying my designs...5 Green Boxes
They have two stores - both just down the block from my studio on South Pearl Street. This store features clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories. You can find my headbands, clippies, and shoeclips at this store.

In their other store, they feature furniture, textiles, gifts, and odds and ends. They just moved to this new space which is so perfect for them!

I will leave you with some snapshots from the Haunted House at school.

My monkeys really enjoyed themselves last night. Everyone did such a good job putting everything together. Wish I could have helped...

Well, it's bedtime.

Can't wait to snuggle up with my "Spooky Senor Kitty!" Still trying to decide if I should dress him up for Halloween. What do you think?

Happy Monday!
